What should I bring?

You really don't have to bring much at all!
A valid ID to make purchases at the bar, some dice if you have them?

We supply pre-generated character sheets, battlemaps, miniatures, other adventurers, and GMs!

Do you supply spell descriptions?

All of the spells on the characters sheets we created should be available on the Dragons, Dungeons, & Drinks Arcana Page

Do you supply pre-generated character sheets?

Yes, pre-generated character sheets are available on-site.
When you arrive, after checking in with registration head over to the character sheet area and select your character!

Check to make sure if the character has multiple sheets or is just one.

You can use our dry-erase markers on them but please wipe them down when you are done for the night and return them to the counter in their proper place.
You can view them at

Can I bring my own character?

Character Creation Guidelines
To create a character that matches the power level of our pre-generated options, please follow these guidelines:

Ability Scores
Use the following array for your ability scores:
8, 20, 12, 19, 12, 13

These should be your final scores after applying racial bonuses, feats, or magic items. Distribute them as you see fit among your six abilities.

Hit Points
Hit points are maximized at each level:

Find your class's hit dice in the Player's Handbook (PHB)

Determine your Constitution (CON) modifier

For 1st level: Use the highest number on the hit dice + CON modifier

For each level after 1st: Add the highest number on the hit dice + CON modifier

Example: A 3rd-level Fighter with 14 CON (+2 modifier) and d10 hit dice would have:

1st level: 10 + 2 = 12 HP
2nd level: 12 + (10 + 2) = 24 HP
3rd level: 24 + (10 + 2) = 36 HP
4th Level: 36 + (10+2) = 48 HP

5th Level:  48 + (10+2) = 60 HP

Feats and Ability Score Improvements
Feats are preferred over Ability Score Improvements (ASI). When you reach a level that grants an ASI, you're encouraged to take a feat instead.

Magic Items
You may choose two magic items for your character. Here are some examples of appropriate items:

Weapons: Rapier of Wounding, Mace of Disruption

Armor/Protection: Cloak of Protection, Mantle of Spell Resistance

Utility: Boots of Elvenkind, Hat of Disguise, Bag of Tricks

Consumables: Potion of Healing (Greater), Potion of Speed, Potion of Heroism

Choose items that complement your character's abilities and backstory.

Character Background
Develop a backstory that explains your character's motivations, skills, and how they acquired their abilities and magic items. Consider including:

Your character's origin and upbringing
Significant events that shaped their path
How they learned their class abilities
The source of their magic items

Remember, your character should be comparable in power and experience to a seasoned adventurer.

How does seating work?

Grand Mastress Renee personally introduces herself to every adventurer who walks through the door and introduces them to a GM. This can take awhile and so we've set aside 5-6 PM for this seating process. Until you've been assigned a table, feel free to order a drink or some food from the food truck and wait near the bar. Let her know if you're playing solo or with others, how experienced you are and if you have any seating accomodations needed. We have high tops, standard tables, wooden benches, and plastic benches.

Is the space loud? Dark?

Noise Levels

Our story-telling events take place in a large, open brewery with up to 125 participants. This environment can be quite noisy, which may impact your ability to hear other players clearly.

We're constantly working on improving this aspect, but we acknowledge it might pose challenges for some attendees, especially those with hearing difficulties.

Alternative Options

For those who find our events less accessible due to noise levels, we recommend checking out Badwolf Adventure Studios. They offer a more intimate setting in their local D&D coffee shop and gaming studio.

Lighting

The majority of our participants report that the lighting is adequate for reading our standard character sheets.

Ongoing Improvements

We're committed to enhancing the experience for all our adventurers and are always open to suggestions for creating a more inclusive environment.

Is the venue cashless?

Yes, please plan accordingly.

Will there be breaks?

Short breaks will be encouraged by GMs for refreshments, fresh air, or restrooms. Please be mindful of our limited game time and respect your fellow players by being attentive to keeping breaks short.

Is there power access at the tables?

Power access is rare and not guaranteed, please plan accordingly.

What if there's an issue during the event?

Notify Grand Mastress Renee immediately for support. She will attend to anything you need.

What if there is a player at the table that is negatively impacting people's experiences?

Notify Grand Mastress Renee immediately for support. She will attend to anything you need.

What if my DM is negatively impacting people's experiences?

Notify Grand Mastress Renee immediately for support. She will attend to anything you need.

Would someone walk me to my vehicle after the event?

Yes, just ask Grand Mastress Renee to secure an escort.

Is there an age requirement for the event?

Currently, our events are 18+. We are happy to refer you to some local D&D events that are family-friendly oriented.

Can I bring my dog?

While service animals are of course welcome, we ask that animal companions hold down the camp at home. With 100 adventurers in the room, we don't have a lot of space.

What's the dress code?

Dress as you please - be it sweatpants or full adventuring regalia! Additionally, as the space is air conditioned, you may consider bringing layers.

Do you have a code of conduct?

Be Respectful, Be Kind, Share the Space, Challenge with Compassion, Be Excellent to Each Other, & If Unsure, Just Ask.

Are food options available at the venue?

Check out the Brühaven calendar to see if there is a food truck scheduled. You will want to order food from the food truck between 5-6 PM so you don't miss the opening speech or any action during your adventure. If ordering in, you can instruct them to bring it to the bar and we can call your name, if desired.

How long is each gaming session expected to last?

Adventures begin asychronously between 6:00 and 6:30 once all adventurers have arrived. There is a short intermission during the middle of the event. GMs are expected to wrap up their adventure around 9:30 PM so people can leave by 10 PM when Bruhaven closes.

What if I'm new to Dungeons & Dragons?

New players are welcome! There are always experienced players willing to share extra dice and show you the ropes. If nervous, just ask Grand Mastress Renee for a trusted player and we'll get you connected to a D&D mentor.

Can I switch tables during the event?

If an issue arises where a player is feeling uncomfortable with another player or the DM, please politely excuse yourself and approach Grand Mastress Renee. She will assist. We want you to have an A+ experience!

How many people will be at each table?

Table sizes will be approximately 4-6 players and 1 GM.

What if I need to leave early?

While the event is designed to conclude together, if you need to leave early, it would be courteous to inform your GM and tablemates. We really encourage players to stay until Grand Mastress Renee concludes the event.

Are there any in-game bonuses for purchases made from the venue?

We encourage being good patrons of the venue that is graciously hosting us and in exchange you will garner a gold star per item purchased! These stars translate to in-game +1 bonuses you can add to your rolls per purchase! Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available. Please drink responsibly.

Can I take photos and videos during the event?

We would love that. It is best ettiquette to check in with the table and see if everyone is fine with candid photos and videos. We'd love for you to capture the magic of your adventure!

Any photos or videos can be shared with us at
dragonsdungeonsdrinks@gmail.com. Your contributions help showcase the spirit of our events and inspire future heroes.
